This expansion and renovation of the Dupont Hospital campus included a Surgery/ICU two-story addition and a three-story Med-Surgery addition. The project included multiple phases to accommodate kitchen expansion, central sterile/decontamination expansion and special procedure areas in addition to the Surgeries and ICU rooms. The existing central plant was expanded with the addition of a 750 ton chiller, cooling tower and related pumping. Chilled water, steam and med gases was upgraded and extended to serve the additions. Surgery HVAC systems will exceed air quality criteria, with capability for reduced air flow during periods when OR’s are not in use. Existing electrical system was expanded to accommodate the new addition. A detailed power monitoring study was accomplished to form baseline for the existing electrical system
